busy busy [11 Aug 2006|10:53am]
[ mood | creative ]

its been FOREVER since I had a chance to update here, and LOTS has been going on.... so let me see if I can sum it all up in a nutshell :D

First - we moved! A completely unexpected turn of events found us with the opportunity to buy a house the is the perfect fit for our family and it was too good of a dal to pass up. So in a whirlwind of activity we made the offer on the new house, got financing, did the necessary fixing up to the old house, listed it and sold it then moved into the huge task of packing a household of 6 plus two boarders to get ready to move!!!

The great news is that the move went smoothly, we are all settling in nicely, & the new house is absolutely perfect for our family. We couldn't be happier with it.

Second - because of the move - we have decided to postpone the release of Penetrate. It's coming along awesome but since we were doing move related stuff in what was supposed to be the final two months of production we decided to wait until we are more settled and then pick up where we left off. Which means we will likely go back to it in Sept - moving the release date to sometime after that....

Which leads me into the final bit of news .......we are finally ready publicly announce ( drum roll please ) ......... Mykel and I are expecting a baby!! I am due November 15, 2006. We wanted to find out what the baby is, but when we went for that ultrasound we couldn't see it. We have one more chance coming up at the next ultrasound in Sept. We are very excited about this and even though it may seem insane this was a planned pregnancy. Our girls are thrilled to bits about the upcoming arrival of a new sibling as well.

Originally we had the album release planned so that the pregnancy wouldn't affect it and I could do the promotion and what not after the baby was born. However since the Move came along so unexpectedly and cut into production time the release dates are all changed, so we have decided to play it by ear on the actual release date. This Album has been such an artistic adventure right from the start and has some fantastic elements to it that we can't wait to share, but good art is always worth the wait and we have confidence that everyone who has been waiting for this release is of the same mindset :)

Oh and thank you to those of you who sent me birthday greetings ! you brought a smile to my face :)

Pocket Universe Announcements [21 Apr 2006|07:56am]
[ mood | working ]

I bet you thought Mykel and I fell right off the face of the planet  *waving*

We  have some wonderful announcements for you. - 3 actually -

Announcement #1 -  the latest CD by Pocket Universe .... Yami Kallima

Yami Kallima is a cool down album, it features VERY amibient music designed to mellow you out, its absolutely fantastic for winding down, meditation, soft sensual scenes, cuddling after sex.... and as a sleep aid!  This is a must have CD if you are into and enjoy new age feeling ambient music.  It will be available through CD baby and will be going up on the Pocket Universe website as soon as CD baby recieves their stock.

We deliberately released Yami Kallima with very little announcements and fanfare - its a sleeper treat for some of our loyal fans whom we know love this style of music.

Announcement #2 - the DVD of our show "Gothic Melodrama"

The Gothic Melodrame DVD is currently undergoing editing and the final tweaking, we aim to have it ready to go by August of this year.  It turned out amazingly well and likely will only be available by direct order through the Pocket Universe Website.  I will keep the fan list posted on the progress of this project.

Announcement #3   upcoming release of "Torment"

Our next full length album - going by the working title of Torment – (subject to change but so far we are liking that one) is entering the final stages of production now! It sounds absolutely wicked and follows the growth curve of Into the Abyss and Primal, leading the listener into a deeper, darker and heavier sound sensation that is still ecstasy for the senses.  We are thrilled to have artist C.S. McDonald of http://www.asylum360.com/ working on the artwork for this album.

We are looking at a target release date of the end of June with a special pre-release around mid June.

As with the other albums the pre-release will feature special limited edition copies of the new album, prior to final mastering and will only be available to people on the fan email list, or those who find us in select locations in person. Those locations will be announced on this list first, then on our website and blogs/journals.

And in final news, there will be one more album released this year, we have been gathering material for it while we were working on Torment. It will be called “ Seducing the Many Eyed  Monster” we haven’t selected a release date for it yet. but are Aiming for November.

Join the Pocket Universe newsletter to get the announcements first and to get in on exciting giveaways and contests!

[ mood | busy ]

Mykel and I have decided that while we are working on our next 2 CDs - which we are in the studio with currently ( yes still!) we are going to release without fan fare or ticker tape, two Ambient music/relaxation type CD's for Scene Music that is more subdued/sensual for those moments when you just want soft floaty (way floaty) music - almost enya-esque. As soon as they are available I'll probably send them out to CD baby, and send out an announcement on our newsletter. the first one is nearly ready to go, it will be called Yami Kallima. We haven't decided on a name for the second one just yet.

It's kinda funny cause the 'real' CD's we are working on are somewhat heavier / more driving than Primal- one of them is diving deeper in to Industrial styles and the other is more of a Club/Dance upbeat sound

we love our diversity

back to working on the artwork for Yami Kallima
